3 Winners Selected in First-Ever Rethink EMG Challenge

The De Luca Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of the first-ever Rethink EMG Challenge:

  • Tea Lulic, University of Brescia (Italy), collab w/ Aalto University (Finland) and Helsinki University Hospital (Finland). Objective assessment of shoulder function following LD flap reconstruction
  • Carl Payton, Manchester Metropolitan University (UK), collab w/ Sunshine Coast University (AUS).
  • Neale Tillin, University of Roehampton (UK). Integrating EMG with GPS to assess neuromuscular fatigue in team sport activity

The Foundation had 4 total awards available, to support unique and innovative methods of utilizing EMG in practical assessments.  Each award consists of $30,000.00 USD; Trigno Lite and Trigno Research packages with 4 Trigno Avanti Sensors, provided by Delsys Inc; and LabChart software from ADInstruments.

Dr. Payton is granted 2 awards; while Dr. Lulic and Dr. Tillin are each granted 1 award.

The independent Review Board was impressed with the strong, detailed applications presented by each Phase II participant, each with their own unique way of introducing EMG into their respective disciplines.
