Honor Excellence in Research

The De Luca Foundation believes in the importance of honoring excellence in research and recognizing innovations that have the potential to advance the fields of Electromyography and Human Movement Sciences. We are proud to support the work of junior and established investigators and help them develop ideas into knowledge and new technologies. We trust that by illuminating outstanding contributions to research we can contribute to inspire the next advances in technology and science.

Programs

Rethink EMG Challenge

The De Luca Foundation is offering four awards, in the form of cash and surface Electromyography (sEMG) equipment, for proposals using sEMG to augment current performance assessment methods in professions (PT, OT, Athletic Training, Fitness, Geriatrics, Speech, Telehealth) in which human assessment of movement in health and disease are needed.

App Development Competition

The Delsys Prize is an annual competition established in 2003 by Professor Carlo J. De Luca to promote innovative uses of Electromyography. It recognizes advancements in the understanding, techniques/technologies or applications of the Electromyographic signal.

Emerging Scientist Award

The Carlo De Luca Emerging Scientist Award was established in 2011 to honor Professor Carlo J. De Luca and his pioneering contribution to the science and application of Biomechanics, in particular in the area of Electromyography. It is administered by the International Society of Biomechanics (ISB).
